In finishing, thin boiling starches like FABRILOSE are preferred for a light finish when very little filling is required to give body to the cloth. For finishing dyes or printed fabric, a transparent size is required so as not to dull the colour on impair the design. In such applications FABRILOSE starches are preferred to maize or thick boiling starches.
In the case of medium finishes, where a concentrated solution is required FABRILOSE A produces excellent results. For back filled goods where plenty of filling is needed either FABRILOSE A makes a very good base for mixing. It is not possible to give a universal recipe to suit varied requirements. By minor changes or modifications in the mix, the user may obtain the particular finish desired.
The following table gives selected data on the useful parameters of FABRILOSE to enable users to make a correct choice. It is not necessary to use additive like gum of synthetic sizes when working with FABRILOSE, about 6% to 7% pick up for low reed pick yarn about 10% to 13% pick up for a high reed pick yarn with requisite amount of softener will be just sufficient for good and uniform working in the loomshed. |
