Incorporated in January 1941 as Hindustan Color Chemicals Manufacturing Company and subsequently rechristened as SAYAJI INDUSTRIES LTD. The Company is one of the largest manufacturer of Starches, Liquid Glucose, Dextrose Monohydrate, Anhydrous Dextrose and Sorbitol in India, employing around 1100 Personnel and has a distribution network throughout the country. The Company's Research & Development Laboratory, has developed the process to manufacture Sorbitol and Anhydrous Dextrose. For the development of Anhydrous Dextrose, the Company was awarded the import substitution Award by the Government of India in 1975.

Since 1986, the Company has entered into a technical know-how agreement to upgrade it's manufacturing facilities with M/S. AMYLUM, NV OF BELGIUM, which is one of the largest corn - wet milling companies in Europe.

In the year 1994, the Company set up a joint venture with "SETHNESS PRODUCTS COMPANY OF U.S.A." in the form of a Company SAYAJI SETHNESS LTD. In this new venture, the Company manufactures Caramel Colors used in the manufacturing of Soft Drinks, Confectionery & other food products.

Both the manufacturing units are in Ahmedabad (India). Ahmedabad is the business capital of the State of Gujarat with adequate Rail, Road & Air Travel facilities. It has an international air-port and has regular flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore & Chennai.
